About the Choir
In August 2009 there was a new dawning in Carrigaline when The Carrigaline Choral Group was formed. Since that date the Choral Group have gone from strength to strength. In their first year they performed the World Premier of Karl Jenkins “Gloria” at the Royal Albert Hall London. They have also travelled to New York to represent Carrigaline Cork & Ireland by walking in the St Patrick Day Parade and singing at a Mass on St Patricks Day. In October 2015 the choir travels to Bochum Germany to sing in the Foyer of The Starlight Express Theatre before attending the show which is being directed by their former Musical Director Colm O’Regan. They have been winners at the Arklow Choral Festival, AIMS Choral Festival New Ross and awarded 2nd place two years running in the Cork International Choral Festival. They have done Workshops with Michael McGLynn and members of Anuna and Chanticleer the World famous Male Vocal Ensemble from San Francisco in February 2014. They have also undergone a weekend learning in the Alexander Technique. The Carrigaline Choral Group are synonymous with Fota House and the Christmas Carols by Candlelight Concerts there. The concerts are now an annual event when the choir sing to a capacity audience. The Choral Group have hosted choirs from USA and Europe. In the past year they have played host to the Farnham Youth Choir from Surrey England and the Christophorus-Kantorei from Altensteig Germany.
2016 is a busy year for the choir. March 20th saw the choir host the Hilliard-Darby Choir from Ohio at Fota House. Festival participation in Cork International Choral Festival and AIMS Choral Festival in New Ross. The choir joined the Tennessee Tech Choir on Wednesday May 11th for a Concert in St Finn Barres Cathedral Cork.

Choir were placed 3rd in the National Open Competition for Mixed Voice Cork International Choral Festival. 2nd place at AIMS Choral Festival Mixed Voice Competition for under 40 voices.
This year the choir are under the Choral Directorship of Aonghus Joyce.
The aim of the Group is to learn choral music, to perform at local concerts and competitions, and to participate in international choral competitions and festivals abroad.
While we are actively recruiting for the tenor and bass lines, we welcome all singers. You don't have to be a virtuoso! You just need to like to sing. Line CDs with a recording of your part are provided.
We are delighted to have worked with very talented Musical Directors since our formation including Jenny Judge, Colm O' Regan, Eoin Scanlon and presently, Aonghus Joyce.
